Tiffany Elle Burgess has been writing short stories, children’s stories, and poetry since she was 6 years old. As a child, her favorite writing spot was underneath the dining room table. Writing has always been her passion and she desires to encourage others with her words.
Ms. Burgess earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Hampton University in 2001 and a Master of Public Health degree from Emory University, Rollins School of Public Health in 2002. Born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee, she currently resides in Atlanta, Georgia where she has been working in the field of public health for over 13 years. In her spare time, Ms. Burgess enjoys writing (of course), playing and watching sports, and spending time with her family and friends.
“Skin Like Mine” is Tiffany Elle Burgess’ first published book. The beautiful illustrations in the book are provided by the talented Takeia Marie (click here) of Bronx, New York. In addition to Takeia Marie, Ms. Burgess is also working with the creative Tiffany Goode of Goode Stuff Publishing (click here) in Atlanta, Georgia to release the book.
Together, this team of talented, young, black women hopes to instill courage, self-love, and acceptance in children and adults of all ages and races with “Skin Like Mine”.
